Interior Design
As a kid I always daydreamed about how to make places better. I’d imagine how the playground could also be a garden or how an empty lot could be a preschool with its own forest. Missing bricks in buildings could be homes for fairies, and abandoned buildings could be renovated to house multiple families experiencing homelessness.
I studied interior design so I could make the world a better place; to design spaces so that my legacy will be my open heart and my creative fingerprint and not my carbon footprint.
I still want the same thing I did as a child. I want people to be happy and healthy. I want verdant, walkable cities and affordable housing. I want to design places that give people what they deserve- the best.
dream with me.
About Annika
From 2018 to 2020 Annika was involved with the American Society of Interior Design. In 2019 she served on the ASID board as the student representative for the state of Oregon.
In 2019 Annika received a certificate of recognition from the city of Carlton for her contributions to the designs of their new city hall and police station.
In May 2020, Annika received her BFA in interior design with a minor in graphic design from George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon. She hopes to create spaces, brand identities and product packaging that emphasize the experience and enforce the idea that good design should be for everyone.
For the past five years Annika has had the honor and the absolute joy of working around Yamhill County to bring art, education and gardening to the community.
Since 2021 She has been an arts educator and camp counselor for the Chehalem Cultural Center. There, she has taught media ranging from embroidery to creative writing to teaching kids how to build their own mini houses. For three years she has hosted an annual art workshop series in October to celebrate LGBTQ history month.
2024 has been a year of success and growth. Annika has been able to check off a few boxes off her lifelong to do list, including having her art be displayed in a gallery ( Chehalem Cultural Center) and fulfilling a childhood dream of becoming a Master Gardener (YCMGA).
